About

CaringConnections started when we saw the need in our own homes. It’s continued as a way to support seniors in their lives, and to allow them to stay in their own homes. Emotional support and intellectual stimulation are often missed as we grow older.  CaringConnections is here to provide a solution.

Where did it begin?

CaringConnections needed to be created. We saw families bend, with just one death, leaving our elderly members alone. We saw the way life can stretch connections—  and sometimes leave them wanting.

My grandmother has memory loss. Like many of us, I’ve had to watch someone forget most of me. But what I do know is this: I could have had more time with her. If life hadn’t been the way it was. If she had more connection, while it was worsening.

For many, there isn’t that connection. Seniors are rendered invisible, and grow lonely. Kids leave the state. Siblings pass away. They leave the workforce, and their support network.

Is loneliness really that bad?

The U.S. Surgeon General says lacking social connection can increase the risk for premature death as much as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.

Yes, it is that bad.

Quite often, our loved ones have some level of care. They might have nurses to help with physical problems, or caregivers to help with the day-to-day concerns. But this leaves a gap. There is no emotional or intellectual support.

So what do we do?

CaringConnections needed to be created. We saw that support void, and we wanted to close it. Our mission is to revolutionize emotional and intellectual support for seniors through a unique approach to companionship.

CaringConnections uses sophisticated artificial intelligence to match seniors to companions with similar interests/backgrounds. We provide seniors with the support they need to keep their independence in their own home. Having this connection, and ability to stay in familiar surroundings, improves both physical and mental health.

Our ability to match seniors to similar companions allows us to create connections based on shared experiences: both parties can grow and learn from each other. CaringConnections approaches each situation with a detailed plan that measures outcomes so we, too, can continuously grow and learn from each other.

It’s a light at the end of the tunnel, when considering the darkness of loneliness in our families.
