    Frequently Asked Questions

We offer different models of engagement, personalized to each senior. We work with your schedule to choose the best match, both for your story, and for your schedule. Caring Connections is a story in and of itself: instead of just one-offs with anyone available, we offer a full plan to make sure seniors feel as supported as possible. Most companionships involve weekly visits.

Our matching process uses comprehensive profiles of seniors and companions, allowing for thorough matching instead of limiting specific questions and answers.

This approach creates more of a story than a profile. We use it to form compatible teams with shared interests, ensuring enjoyable and enriching interactions.

We don’t require medical training for our companions. You can, for instance, read to the senior what their pill bottle says, but you cannot provide medical advice.

Our mission is to connect people and be a starting point for activities. We expect that people coming into the program can both communicate and perform those activities– that said, we understand that the early stages of dementia might be the most important time for engagement. This is a factor that would be included in a senior’s profile, and mentioned during the pairing process.

We provide a program overview and training sessions to our companions. These go over CaringConnections, how to navigate scheduling, payment, and the system for engaging with seniors.

We also provide engagement scaffolding and a process for outcome measurement and improvement.
